The symptoms of hormone decline include:
Weight control problems
Sexual and libido issues
Brain fog or cloudiness
Bioidentical hormone therapy can enhance your overall health by:
Providing protection against heart disease
Slowing and preventing osteoporosis (bone loss)
Enhancing mental acumen
Decreasing memory loss
Triggering the growth, healing and repair of tissues
Optimizing thyroid function
Bioidentical hormones have been studied for over 70 years with evidence that they are safe and effective in treating a number of hormone-related problems that are most commonly associated with menopause, peri-menopause, and andropause (male menopause). Through bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, many symptoms of menopause and "manopause" can be reversed!
Although data from the Women’s Health Initiative Study and 11 year follow-up revealed an increased incidence of breast cancer mortality, strokes and blood clots, these findings apply only to Premarin and Provera, which are synthetic pseudo-hormones; bio-identical hormones were Not used in these studies. Interestingly, multiple mouse studies in the 80’s and 90’s have revealed the carcinogenic properties of Provera with respect to breast tissue. Unlike these synthetic pseudo-hormones, bioidentical hormone therapy uses hormone molecules that have been synthesized into human identical hormones, which are already in and recognized by our bodies.
Synthetic regimens deliver a "one size fits all" approach that is not conducive to properly treating hormonal issues, where our team utilizes compounding pharmacies that create bioidentical hormones, made specifically for each patient. Through personal medical history evaluations and blood analysis, our medical team will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that will help you stop suffering and start living!
Hormone optimization therapy is used to deliver bioidentical hormones into the body. Used by both men and women, hormone pellets or cream can be used to restore ideal hormone levels in persons who are looking to get relief from the symptoms of menopause and andropause (male menopause). These symptoms include hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog, low libido, muscle loss, belly fat increase and many more.
Smaller than a TicTac, bio-identical hormone pellets are inserted beneath the skin in the hip area by Dr. Berry. These pellets are composed of 100% bio-identical estrogen, testosterone, or the combination of estrogen and testosterone. Each pellet is created by a trusted compounding pharmacy and sent to our medical facility in sterile glass jars.
Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy include:
Steadier Levels of Hormones. Pellets release small doses of bioidentical hormones over the course of a few months. This prevents the "roller coaster" effect that patients often experience with pills or creams or injections.
Convenience. Pellets are inserted every 4-6 months, and deliver small, time-released doses of bioidentical hormones. This method eliminates the need to remember to take a pill or apply creams at the same time every day, or get an injection every 2 weeks.
100% Pure: Bioidentical Hormone pellets are comprised of pure bioidentical hormones. There are no additives, fillers or other products included. Hormone patches are loaded with contaminants during the manufacturing process that can cause skin irritations and other issues. All prescription "hormone" pills are synthetic pseudo-hormones, not the actual hormone you need.
Hormone pellet therapy has been used as a form of bioidentical hormone therapy for over 70 years. First introduced in 1935, pellet therapy has since been used in Europe and throughout medical universities in the United States.
Unlike pills and synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormone pellets have not been shown to increase the risk of blood clots, which can lead to heart attacks.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hormone Pellets
How are the pellets inserted?
Pellets are inserted under the skin in the upper buttocks area through a tiny incision which is then covered with a steri-strip. Local anesthesia is used prior to insertion and you'll feel almost nothing at all during the 3-minute procedure other than perhaps a little pressure when the pellets are inserted. Other than occasional bruising and possibly some minor discomfort afterwards, there are very rarely any complications from this simple procedure. After insertion we suggest that you refrain from swimming or soaking in the tub for 48 hours.
Why haven't I heard of this method before?
Even though pellet therapy has been in use since the 1930's, many have not heard of the treatment because pellets cannot be patented and marketed by pharmaceutical companies, therefore you won't see them advertised on TV. Companies cannot profit from pellets in the same way they can from other hormones such as Estratest, Premarin, Provera or PremPro; since Big Pharma stands to make Billions on these pseudo-hormones then they will spend Millions advertising them.
Do you remove the pellet after a specific time period?
The pellets are absorbed naturally and completely by the body over a period of 3-6 months. There is no need to remove them.
How will I be monitored while I use bioidentical hormone pellets?
Prior to treating you, a blood analysis is performed in order to gather information on your current hormone levels. Using this data, our physicians create the correct balance between the testosterone and estrogen pellets and the progesterone they prescribe for you. After your initial pellets are inserted, blood work is performed regularly so that we can continue to analyze your status and make sure the pellets are working like they should be. Our goal is to return your hormones to youthful normal levels. We do not elevate your levels to above-normal levels.
Hormones and Your Sleep: What Is Your Body Telling You?
Changes in hormones can affect humans at any age, not just at a menopausal point (although this is usually the most noticeable time). Many of these changes may yield weight loss or gain, lowering in libido, mood swings, and changes in sleep patterns. People find that they are either constantly fatigued or that it is a genuine struggle to fall asleep, but what exactly do our sleep patterns tell us about our hormonal levels?
When people find that they are struck with fatigue, they typically don’t have the suspicion that the culprit could be hormone imbalance. Fatigue affects people of all ages and is most often related to the amount of stress hormones your body is producing. When we are stressed out, our bodies produce excessive amounts of stress hormones, causing our bodies to be denied rest--ultimately leading to feelings of fatigue, sluggishness and cloudiness.
In addition, people with hormonal imbalances can also experience insomnia, where they get very little sleep or have difficulty trying to get to sleep. Hormone imbalances with regard to long-term stress may cause your body to stay alert and wide awake, while also suppressing your body’s internal clock that regulates when you sleep and when you wake up. Even minimal stressors such as a problem at work or with a personal relationship may be recognized by your body as bigger stress than they really are, keeping your body wide awake and alert (also called survival mode).
Simple Blood Testing and an Office Visit with our medical team will clarify which method of hormone therapy is right for you.
